Newly incorporated Centennial was formed in 2001. Interesting fun fact, the name reflects Colorado’s admission to the Union as the 38th state in 1876 and the state of Colorado is nicknamed the Centennial State.

Centennial is located in Arapahoe County. The city population is approx. 110,000, making Centennial the 11th most populous municipality in Colorado. Centennial is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood.

Centennial is attractive due to its rating as one of Colorado’s top safest communities, family-oriented neighborhoods, excellent public schools, and easy access to Denver and the surrounding areas. It’s also has various recreational, dining, and shopping options, including the walking mall and streets in SouthGlenn. South Suburban Golf Course is a regional public course that caters to professionals and amateurs alike. It features a full 18-hole, regulation, par 72 course for avid players and a 9-hole, par 31 course for beginners. It also has a casual restaurant, the South Suburban Golf Course Bar and Grill, to grab a delicious meal.

Family Sports Golf Course is a very accessible course for those on the go, located next to the Centennial Airport. The South Suburban Family Sports Ice Arena is where the Colorado Avalanche NHL Professional hockey team practices. Whether you are an ice skater, a hockey player, or an adventurous person just wanting to play in the rink, you won’t be out of place. It has a 9-hole, executive, par 31 course and a two-tiered driving range. After a great game, Avalanche Grill is a great place to grab a bite.

Centennial has an elevation ranging from 5526ft to 6054ft.

Centennial and the surrounding areas experience four distinct seasons and modest precipitation year-round. Summers range from mild to hot, with generally low humidity and frequent afternoon thunderstorms, July is the warmest month of the year, with an average high of about 89 °F and an average low of about 57 °F. December is the coldest month of the year, with an average high of approx. 43 °F and an average low of approx. 17 °F. The average first snowfall in the area occurs in late October and the average final snowfall occurs in late April, although snow has fallen as soon as early September and as late as early June.
